The field of the habilitation and inauguration procedure Slovak history is defined by the study of the history of the territory of Slovakia and its inhabitants in various historical periods, from the earliest periods of human history to the present day. It is based on the knowledge of professional terminology and methodology of historical sciences, the use of scientific methods of obtaining, processing and interpreting knowledge, conclusions and generalisations in the field of historical sciences and related disciplines. It includes knowledge of development, society, politics, economy, culture, religion, and art in both temporal and spatial contexts, with an emphasis on European and global trends in historical development.

The habilitation and inauguration procedure in Slovak history is defined by the study of the history of the territory of Slovakia and its inhabitants in different historical periods. It cooperates with the disciplines that are the content of historical sciences, such as general history, archives, auxiliary historical sciences, religious studies, museology, archaeology, ethnology and didactics of history.
